Healthy relationships can be formed between you and your friend, you and your family members, or you and your partner. A healthy relationship embraces love, trust, respect and mutual care for the people involved.

Perpetrators are also likely to have been raised in emotionally and physically abusive environments and learn to use abuse as a way to cope with their own feelings.

A GOVERNMENT THAT PUTS WOMEN FIRST

The Government of India has allocated 181 to Tamil Nadu as the Women Helpline and it is intended to provide 24*7 emergency response to women affected by violence. Referrals (linking with appropriate authority such as Police, One Stop Centre, Hospital etc based on the need of the caller) and information about women related Government schemes are provided.

The Women helpline was started in collaboration with the Amma Call Center and was inaugurated by the Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on December 10, 2018.

This project is funded by the ‘NIrbhaya Project’ and the Chennai Safe City Project, an initiative of the Central Government, as part of measures to be taken to curb violence against women. The Justice Verma Committee Report has prescribed certain important measures for increasing security of women in rural and urban places. Eight cities have been identified for implementation of the Safe City Project, under the Nirbhaya Fund. These are Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Lucknow.
